  Included: a private guide in English for 2 hours, for your family or party only, an itinerary planned around your children's interests, and the timed-entry reservation at the Natural History Museum. Not included: transport to the museum, food and drink, audio guides, tickets to the museum's paid temporary exhibitions, and gratuities, which are welcome but never expected.

• Do we skip the entry lines?

  No. During public opening hours the Natural History Museum does not allow anyone to skip the entry or security checks.   Tours start every day at 10:00 or 14:00 and meet outside the Natural History Museum on Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London SW7 5BD; the exact spot is in your confirmation email. The museum opens at 10:00 daily and closes at 17:50, with last entry at 17:30. The nearest Underground station is South Kensington, on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines, about a 5-minute walk away.

The base rate of £290 covers 1 or 2 participants; each additional adult aged 16 or over is £35, each additional child aged 6 to 15 is £25, and children under 6 join free. • Is the museum suitable for very young children?

  Absolutely. The museum is visual and exciting, and our guides are experts at simplifying complex ideas to keep even the youngest visitors engaged with the giant things they see, from the blue whale to the dinosaurs. Children under 6 join free, and the guide adjusts the route and the pace to their energy levels.

• Can we customise the tour?

  Yes. The tour follows a proven highlights itinerary that your guide adapts to your family's interests, ages and energy. If your child is obsessed with volcanoes but less interested in birds, or wants nothing but dinosaurs, tell us when booking or at the start and the two hours will be built around it, with snack breaks whenever needed.

• Can the tour include a temporary exhibition?

  No. Our private tours cover the permanent galleries of the Natural History Museum only; temporary exhibitions are ticketed separately by the museum and visited independently.
